Khloe Kardashian was quick to announce the name of her daughter, True, letting fans in on the name after just four days. But, the reason behind the name has been hush-hush until now.
The 33-year-old Keeping Up With The Kardashians star revealed on her app that it was Kris Jenner's mother, MJ, who came up with the idea for the name.
'My grandma MJ suggested True. She told me it was my great-grandfather’s first name and my grandfather’s middle name,' Khloe wrote. 't stuck with me for my entire pregnancy and was the only one I couldn’t get out of my head.'
The Strong Looks Better Naked author also dished that she 'can't wait' for MJ to meet True in person.
Khloe and her NBA player boyfriend Tristan Thompson welcomed daughter True on April 12.
The Good American mogul announced the name shortly after with a sweet Instagram post.
'Our little girl, True Thompson, has completely stolen our hearts and we are overwhelmed with LOVE,' she captioned. 'Such a blessing to welcome this angel into the family! Mommy and Daddy loooooove you True!'
The same day, Kris Jenner took to Instagram to express her congratulations, including a sneaky hint about the meaning behind True's name.
'I’m excited to welcome my precious little granddaughter True!!!,' she wrote. 'FUN FACT… my Grandfather’s name on my Dad’s side was True Otis Houghton….my Dad’s name was Robert True Houghton…so i am so excited Khloe named her daughter True!!! #lovebug #familytradition #family @true.'
Many fans believed Khloe had named her daughter True as a reaction to Tristan's cheating saga.
Just two days before Khloe welcomed her first child with Thompson, he was caught on video cheating on the reality star. Contrary to what many fans believe, the couple had chosen the name prior to the scandal.
'True had already been picked for a while,' an insider told Us Weekly. 'She went into labour not even knowing the full scope of the cheating so the option of changing her name wasn’t even brought up. It’s too much for one person to deal with during the crazy time.'
The source added that Khloe already had many items monogrammed with 'True.'
