While judging on the panel of American Idol, Katy gave 19-year-old Benjamin Glaze his first kiss ever, and we think he wants it back tbh.
While introducing himself to the panel, he revealed that he had never kissed a girl. Katy must have internally trademarked the whole kissing thing because when she heard that, she took matters into her own hands.
She asked Benjamin to come over and kiss her on the cheek. He did so, but she wanted MORE. At the last second she did the sneaky head turn your eager 14-year-old friend once tried and got the kiss on the lips she was after.
It's safe to say that he was SHOOKETH.
Benjamin has spoken to The New York Times about the incident, saying, "I was a tad bit uncomfortable. I wanted to save it for my first relationship."
Well NOT ON KATY'S WATCH.
"I know a lot of guys would be like, ‘Heck yeah!’ But for me, I was raised in a conservative family and I was uncomfortable immediately," he continued. "I wanted my first kiss to be special."
So really, it felt so wrong, it felt so right, it don't mean he's in love tonight?
His friends back home have helped him believe that 'it doesn't count' because it wasn't consensual.
"It was lip contact versus a romantic situation with someone you care about," he said. "That’s what a real first kiss is."
Now, the age old question has been risen: would the world react differently if it were a male judge kissing a young, female contestant?
Is Katy apologetic? Nah. Instead, she uploaded a GIF to represent the situation.
How's that for romance.
