Designer Kate Spade, who founded the amazing fashion label Kate Spade New York, was found dead on Tuesday of an apparent suicide.
In a statement to the New York Daily News, Kate's family have said that they are “devastated by today’s tragedy.”
“We loved Kate dearly and will miss her terribly. We would ask that our privacy be respected as we grieve during this very difficult time.”
Kate's sister Eve Brosnahan was contacted by phone, but “struggled to speak” as the Daily News reports. “It’s very difficult,” she said. “I can’t right now. I just can’t.”
Following the tragic news of her death, celebrities have shown their support for the businesswoman.
