Earlier today, The Kissing Booth 2 star and newcomer Zakhar Perez shared a set of pictures of him, King and friends off in the woods and swimming and cannonballing into a gorgeous waterfall. In the post he wrote a lil disclaimer, adding that he and his pals all got COVID-19 tests before the trip and all tested negative (hurray!). Late last month, the pair also got tested just so they could hangout and watch the premiere of their new Netflix rom-com flick together (how cute~)
Supposedly, the gang were all hanging out to celebrate King’s 21st birthday last Friday, which, in case you missed it, featured Joey in a super cute bikini fit and a partying in the bathtub.
But, the thing we’re holding onto is how particularly telling it is that Zakhar Perez was the only TKB cast member present. Adding even further to the dating rumours, Zakhar Perez celebrated his Netflix co-star and on-screen crush’s actual birthday on the day with a cute photo of him and King by the beach, and a very sweet and loving message.
“Happy Friggen Birthday, Joey King,” he wrote. “Honestly, I could write about this woman all day.
“She is the reason I joined The Kissing Booth 2 family, she welcomed me with open arms and love, she supported me, she pushed me, she made me laugh (like pee my pants laughter and had to check my underwear), she inspired me to be a better actor, she shared her family with me, THE LIST GOES ONE. Grateful for you forever.”
In response, King replied, “Can’t imagine my life without you. I heart you T,” so, yeah, fans are definitely speculating that the pair are more than “just friends.”
This, plus the fact the two told Girlfriend earlier they’re both “Team Marco,” and that Taylor confessed to Glamour that he was single but *would* date Joey… they know EXACTLY what they're doing to us.
“I’m a fan of Joey and wish that she would date me, you know what I mean?” he told the outlet. “I’m a huge proponent of dating friends or people you’ve had heart-to-hearts with before you become intimate.”
This is good news for Team Marco shippers, who are taking this as proof that the two are dating IRL. Neither Joey King or Taylor Zakhar Perez have responded to fans' hopes that the pair are together, but, if it means anything, we certainly know King is no longer with ex and fellow The Kissing Booth co-star Jacob Elordi.
