In the 15th anniversary issue of Vegas magazine — her first cover since announcing the split — Jenna admitted that the pair “started out as friends” and would remain friends “no matter what.”
“We started out as friends, and I would say it was an instant recognition,” Jenna told the publication.
“When we met [on the set of Step Up in 2005], it felt like we had known each other for many years. Ultimately, no matter what Chan and I are doing, we’re really great friends. I think that will never change, no matter what,” she added.
While the pair aren't together anymore, they still share a daughter, Everly, who turns five this month.
“Jenna is still on good terms with Channing,” a source told PEOPLE recently. “They get along. They spend some time together as a family, but mostly separately with Everly.”
Well at least we have that.
