In a new video titled “Doing Lil Nas X’s Makeup!,” the 21-year-old makeup artist transforms the country pop gay icon with a makeup look inspired by his new single, “Holiday.” During the vid, the pair chat about coming out, Lil Nas X’s viral hit "Old Town Road," his past as a Nicki Minaj stan account, and the one artist Lil Nas X wants to collab with next. Spoilers, it’s Doja Cat.
“I want to collaborate with Doja Cat,” he said. “I think Doja Cat is dope.”
“In my opinion, she’s one of the absolute best artists of our generation,” added Charles.
Later, when the video started blowing up, fans quickly decided to ship the duo—seemingly just because they are both gay men. But, the “Panini” rapper quickly shut down rumours he’s dating James Charles, tweeting, “two gay men can do things together without y’all sexualising it.” Periodt.
Prior to the "Panini" rapper, Charles gave Emma Chamberlain, Doja, Charli D'Amelio and Kylie Jenner makeovers. James Charles’s makeover of Lil Nas X is the first time he’s ever had a male celebrity on his channel. In the video, Charles gives Lil Nas X a metallic silver face makeup with silver accents on his lips and inside his ears.
