Jake Gyllenhaal's Interview Got Super Awkward When He Was Asked About Taylor Swift
If there's one thing celebrities don't want while their doing a press tour for their new film, it's probing questions about their three-month long relationship with another celebrity back in 2010. For Jake Gyllenhaal however, that's exactly what he got.
The actor, who is currently promoting the sci-fi flick Life, sat down for an interview about the film with The Guardian, where he was asked if he thought that dating Taylor Swift was like "playing with fire."
"I think when you're in a relationship, you are constantly scrutinised, your friends are scrutinised, but..." Jake told the publication, before reportedly trailing off. The writer then explains that Jake stared at him intensely before "an exaggerated shrug".
While most would take that to mean "not today buddy," the reporter pressed on to ask if the actor had ever listened to any of the songs written about him.
At this point, Jake replied "I would love to not talk about my personal life," to which the reporter (for some reason) said that he wasn't prying because it was all in the public domain. To this view, Jake shot back "Oh, really? You don't?"
You can practically feel the awkwardness. It's not the first time a Taylor Swift ex has shot back at reporters, just recently Tom Hiddleston flew off at a reporter after her asked if he regretted the publicity surrounding the relationship. "What should I regret, in your mind?" Tom asked. "I would rather not talk about this if that's alright."
Oh, the drama of it all!
