"I am so sorry that your country is literally on fire," Ian said.
Ian then went on to talk about the link between climate change and the fires both in his home city of Malibu, and in Australia.
Someone get Canberra on the phone ASAP because the ladies and gents there desperately need to hear this.
"I live in Malibu," Ian began.
"I live in a fire-torn, scary place and the drying out of our climate and the fact that these droughts are unmistakably driven by climate destruction, I am very sorry to see that."
Ian finished: "[Australia] is a very special place and my heart hurts for the wildlife, the flora, the fauna and everyone there."
