"Stelena was better for my life. Because Delena fans got really mean to me and my wife and my family and stuff. So I love Stelena. Stelena was fun. Stelena fans are like super cool," Ian said.
Yikes.
It is true when Ian and Nina broke up in real life, Ian began dating fellow vampire Nikki Reed (Rosalie Cullen from Twilight).
Now, they are married with a family.
However, fans were NOT happy about it. Since then, Nina, Nikki, and Ian have all hung out and squashed any rumours of feuding, showing fans that a break up doesn't mean bullying and hate from fans is okay.
When Ian made these controversial comments on the panel, Paul initially thought that he meant #Stelena fans were going after him... But Ian clarified it was his fans.
"No Delena fans were actually problematic. Yeah, they were mean to like my family and me, and it just got really weird for a little while. I shipped Elena and Damon like crazy until the ship just got negative. So I love Stelena. It is easier for my life. And I got to see Paul shirtless all the time cause he and Elena were always making out and stuff."
That we won't argue with.
While we understand where Ian is coming from, fictionally, we still ship #Delena, HARD... and so do the fans.
When the show's spin-off Legacies came out, news that Damon and Elena ended up having a daughter was revealed, and it went ABSOLUTELY WILD on social media.
The kicker? Her name is Stefanie Salvatore. Help.
