An example of this is a social media star who expected a hotel to provide her with a free stay just 'coz she has a lot of followers online.
Elle Darby, a beauty, lifestyle & fitness YouTuber emailed a Dublin hotel asking if she and her bae could stay at their establishment over Valentine's Day, free of charge.
As a thank you, she would post pics from inside the hotel to “bring traffic” and “recommend others to book”.
But the hotel owner was not down with her business proposition and he responded with the most savage email which he shared to Facebook to ward off other pesky freeloaders.
After the post went viral, the YouTuber posted a 17 minute video on her channel where she says that she felt "humiliated" after being "exposed" by the hotel owner.
She revealed that she's been flooded with hate by online peeps due to the post which, we cannot overstate this, is NEVER okay.
As wacky as her request was, online bullying is always wrong, no matter what the circumstances are.
After the video went live, the hotel owner posted another lengthy rant aimed at all bloggers which he titled:
'OFFICIAL APOLOGY TO BLOGGERS'.
He followed this up with another post stating that all bloggers have officially been banned from The White Moose Cafe.
Yiiiiikes!
In summary: If you're a blogger and you're ever in Dublin in search of a free hotel, don't bother hitting up The White Moose.
Or better yet, PAY for your room with your own damn money just like the rest of us.
