Doing the press rounds with Lily Collins for their new Ted Bundy film, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, Zac Efron— who played the teenage heartthrob Troy Bolton in the beloved flicks— said 10 years on and he's totally on board with a cameo.
"Absolutely," he said when asked if he'd star in the new series later this year. "I don't see why not."
Despite the hype around the upcoming show, Efron said he didn't even know there was a series coming our way... how rude!
“I’m not, like, committing to it — I didn't know there was [a series]. That message still resonates to this day.”
According to Variety, High School Musical: The Musical will feature an entirely new cast and will consist of ten episodes. As expected, the docu-style series will follow a group of students at East High who are preparing for their winter theatre production. Each episode will include a series of our favourite renditions from the three films, along with a few new tunes we'll be able to belt out at karaoke.
