Pretty Little Liars has hosted some epic tunes that sountracked all the secret-keeping (we'll forever have the theme song stuck in our heads!).
But while the producers were able to feature some epic jams on the series, they were never able to play a Beyoncè jam. And here's why.
Series showrunner, I. Marlene King revealed that despite wanting to include Queen Bey, they were unable to afford her super exxy prices.
“We referenced Beyoncé on the show,” King told Vulture.
“We haven’t been able to afford her music, but we’ll definitely reference her."
She went on to explain that all the music on the show was hand-picked because it represented #GIRLPOWER.
“We strayed away from heavy rock or a male sound,” she added.
“We absolutely wanted the music to be female-centric and female-driven; that was our guideline.”
Come to think of it, the show did feature a whole lotta female singers and bands.
Even the legendary Lady Gaga slipped a song in during Season 2.
But unforch, Bey was just too exxy.
Too bad! "Run The World" would've been the perf jam to play during the unveiling of 'A' who, let's face it, ran the whole damn PLL world!
