Emma Watson’s portrayal of Belle in the live-action remake Beauty and the Beast is nothing short of magical. And with literally everyone running to see it, the Disney film will reportedly bring in an INSANE $140 million (USD) at the box-office by Sunday evening after a killer opening weekend.
According to the The Hollywood Reporter, the movie’s HUGE success will directly impact Emma's earnings. They reckon the actress signed a "back-end deal," which means she could make around a cool $15 MILLION if the film makes $750 million (USD) globally. She reportedly earned $3 million (USD) upfront for the role.
"@beautyandthebeast opens today! I hope you have as much fun watching it as I did making it. Love, Emma 🌹"
While Emma’s male co-stars' salaries have not been made public, she has spoken out about the gender wage gap in Hollywood.
"We are not supposed to talk about money because people will think you're ‘difficult' or a ‘diva.' But there's a willingness now to be like, ‘Fine, call me a diva, call me a feminazi, call me difficult, call me a First World Feminist, call me whatever you want, it's not going to stop be from trying to do the right thing," Emma told Esquire.
Beauty and the Beast is set to land one of the top ten openings of ALL TIME. Congrats, Emma!
