The movement started as a way to stand for people who have been sexually mistreated in Hollywood. It also pushed for women to achieve equal pay and opportunities as men.
According to the GoFundMe page, “Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund will provide subsidized legal support to women and men who have experienced sexual harassment, assault, or abuse in the workplace and while in pursuit of their careers. The Fund will ultimately be housed at and administrated by the National Women’s Law Center, an established, national women’s rights legal organization.”
Daily Mail reports that records show Harry donated exactly $42,631 to the movement in August. He is one of nine male celebs to donate over $40 thousand to the fund. Others include Seth Meyers, Steven Spielberg and John Legend.
And it's not the only charity that Harry has donated to. Others include Black Lives Matter, GLSEN and March For Our Lives, which was part of his Treat People With Kindness campaign that came with his world tour in 2017-18.
The $42k donation came from the ticket and merchandise sales of his Los Angeles concert in July.
“Visit the merchandise stand at each Harry Styles Live On Tour date for an exclusive Treat People With Kindness hair tie set,” his website read during the tour. “All of Harry’s profits from these purchases, as well as a portion of ticket sales, will be donated to various local charities from his tour stops around the world.”
Taylor Swift donated $100,000 to the Time's Up Legal Defence Fund in January this year.
