On September 6th, the woman behind the epic series herself J.K Rowling tweeted a picture of the Cursed Child logo. Fans immediately went nuts as it is the first photo Rowling has posted in legit months - and the play has been on London's West End since July 2016.
Later, people burst that exciting bubble when they put the tweet down to a simple promotional pic for a Cursed Child related event in New York.
BUT THEN.
Later on that September day, Pottermore posted the most intriguing announcement: “‘Sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places’ is the prophetic new tagline for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which has just revealed a sensational new look across its marketing artwork and venues around the world.”
Even though there is not a lot to go off, We Got This Covered - a highly respected American outlet that covers film and television news - released a report that Warner Bros. was working on a Cursed Child film, and it wants to cast the OG's as Harry, Hermonie and Ron.
ENTER: EVERYONE ON THE INTERNET.
Just a quick FYI, We Got This Covered first broke the news Disney's Aladdin was getting a live-action remake, as well as confirming Marvel's plans for a She-Hulk TV show.
So, they know their stuff.
At this point, we can't see why Warner Bros. wouldn't ride the gravy train that is the Harry Potter series, so a Cursed Child movie seems to be definite in our opinion.
As for whether Daniel, Emma and Rupert will return, we can only hope and pray the rumours are true.
