Festival goers were left without basic necessities like food and water, after spending THOUSANDS of dollars on tickets.
Billy McFarland, the 25-year-old founder behind the event, was arrested on Friday in New York, charged with wire fraud.
Joon H. Kim, the acting US attorney for the Southern District of New York, said in a statement:
"McFarland allegedly presented fake documents to induce investors to put over a million dollars into his company and the fiasco called the Fyre Festival. Thanks to the investigative efforts of the FBI, McFarland will now have to answer for his crimes."
The charges mean he could spend up to 20 years in prison, but according to the New York Times, it could end up being less.
Yeesh.
No word has yet to come out on whether or not celebrity ambassadors like Kendall Jenner or Bella Hadid will have to pay any price for their involvement.
