According to ScreenRant, this now means Fantastic Beasts 3 will hit cinemas November 2021 instead.
So far, all we know is the intended release date and the fact it will start filming next year, however, we do know that the legend herself J.K. Rowling is currently "furiously" writing to finish the script in time.
While at LeakyCon 2019 in Boston, Dan said J.K. Rowling has "been writing furiously, everyone was really happy with what she submitted, and we’re all just waiting for the new script".
As for the future of Jacob Kowalski and his girlfriend Queenie Goldstein, Dan says that there's a potential for their story to turn much darker.
"[On] a philosophical level, it’ll be interesting… We’re in the middle of the Depression, he’s just on a bender of loss. He lost her … I’m just saying this is the thing that I have in my head, that he’s lost his appetite".
The big question remains as to whether J.K. Rowling and Warner Bros. will keep on Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald.
WB got hit with some pretty major backlash after thet decided to keep Depp on as one of the leads, even after his ex-wife Amber Heard levied domestic abuse allegation against him in 2016.
According to ScreenRant, the execs over at WB are (rightfully) worried if they allowed Depp to continue to play Grindlewald on the series, it may hurt Fantastic Beasts 3 chances at success.
Their decision to keep Johnny Depp in the second film undoubtedly hurt them - well that, and the confusing plot.
While no formal announcement as to Depp's involvement has been made, we can't help but think it would be wise if J.K. Rowling and WB did the right thing and parted ways with him.
