While attending the MTV Movie & TV Awards earlier this week, Ross met with the amazing Yara Shahidi. It's safe to say that he had a bit of a fangirl moment...
But it was his caption that offended people.
"The graceful, classy, beautiful @yarashahidi, everyone. Ladies take note."
It's the latter part of the comment that we're focusing on here, the "ladies take note" part. A lot of fans found it very unnecessary.
One commenter pointed it out by saying"
"Don't say 'ladies take note' it implies the rest of us strong women can't be as awesome as her."
"I mean, you could really apologise for that last sentence. I'm not like her so what? Does it make me less important? Really man, delete it and apologise. 'Ladies take note'... What a pity for a man to think he can tell women how to be."
Yikes... we really don't think that Ross intended to hurt anyones feelings or to at all be offensive, but we can see how it can come across as a little harsh.
But of course, not everybody was affected by the comment, many fans actually coming to his defence.
"People are so sensitive these days. Seriously people there worse things than ladies take notes and more important things to invest your time in, especially since ladies say men take notes all the damn time."
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
