The most exciting part about all these Disney remakes is definitely the casting… for example, Emma Watson as Belle in BATB, talks that Beyoncé will play Nala in The Lion King and now THIS!
For Disney’s live-action remake of Aladdin, none other than Will Smith is in talks to play the iconic role of Genie that the late Robin Williams’ slayed as in the original.
Deadline reports that director Guy Ritchie is keen for Will to take on the role, but he would have to be readily available for the long six-month shoot.
They are definitely HUGE shoes to fill, but if anyone can do it, it’s our man Will.
