Just when you thought that Netflix’s YOU couldn’t get any creepier, they have released a clip removing ALL of Joe Goldberg’s (Penn Badgley) narration, showing the viewers just how important that editing detail is for the final result.

WATCH: ‘YOU’ without Joe Goldberg’s narration is creepy

As you may know, the show is heavily narrated by Joe throughout, usually with crazy, stalker/murderous thoughts. BUT, it is probably instrumental in the reason why viewers feel so loyal to him, because they’re in his mind.

Without the narration, there are long pauses and awkward moments that we can’t physically get through without experiencing second-hand embarrassment.

One Twitter put it well: “Well that is just weird. Imagine what all them people must think. This dude just stands there and stares for a very long time.”

Seeing how Joe interacts with people really is strange.

Another person shared: “This just lets you know that these people overlooking how weird this dude is.”

Netflix’s YOU season two premiered on the streaming service on December 26, 2019, and has gained even more momentum than season one did. It did so well, that a third season is already in talks.
