We have a very legit theory about why Matt Agnew is in Scotland right now

This reeks of the Honey Badger...

Days before Bachelor fans watched in horror as Nick Cummins ditched the final two ladies vying for his heart and walked away single, the professional football payer flew to Papua New Guinea, disabled his Instagram comments and turned his phone off.

Although we later discovered he was over there to walk the Kokoda Trail, the trip— which was rumoured to be the Network’s idea and a very clever PR stunt— allowed him to bury his head in the sand and avoid facing a barrage of criticism from discontented viewers.

It was a clever tactic and one that this year’s Bachelor Matt Agnew seems to have employed. Speculation that Matt dumps the final two contestants reached fever pitch last night when he shared a photo of himself standing next to a famous cliff— which so happens to be in Scotland.

“Stormy weather overlooking Kilt Rock,” he captioned the cute snap, (maybe) foreshadowing what’s to come on The Bachelor this week.

Naturally, hundreds of fans were equally as confused why Matt randomly jetted abroad and told absolutely no one about the trip.

Like, why is he in the United Kingdom?

When did he get there?

Who is he with?

Who took the picture?

Is this photo old or new?

Why is his denim jacket so goddam tight?

Etc, etc.

Seeing as Matt’s yet to put our minds at ease, let’s do what we all do best: theorise.

Ok, here’s what I’m thinking.

We all know that after Emma Roche was eliminated, Network 10 producers tried to fly her back to Ireland (a country she used to call home) mainly because she kicked up a stink about her portrayal on the series. Basically, she hated the fact they made her look like last year’s stage five clinger, Cass Wood!

“She felt completely cheated and stitched up with how she’s been made to look in the edit and pleaded with them to change future episodes,” an on-set insider told us last week. “It was suggested she could return to Ireland for a while until everything blew over, and bosses were happy to pay for her flights.”

So I’m thinking that maybe Emma secretly flew back to Ireland around the same time Matt jetted off to Scotland and they’re planning to meet in the middle?

Yeah, I’m literally thinking he might’ve pulled a Blake Garvy on us— there’s also a lot of evidence that suggests he dumps the winner.

Honestly, I can’t be bothered to explain that right now and it’s really deviating from the point I’m trying to make, so you can read that theory if you click THIS

If it’s not Emma who he’s secretly seeing, maybe he’s back with his Swedish ex-girlfriend. In case you have no idea what I’m talking about, Matt fell in love with a Swedish professor he met while studying in Europe. Apparently their romance was top secret and they used to meet late at night in the Lund University Observatory.

“It started out as a bit of fun but before it was time to leave he’d developed genuine and deep feelings for her. Obviously, Matt and his mystery lady had astrophysics in common and were at the same level intellectually,” an insider dished to New Idea last month.

Now, before you tell me I’m insane, a flight from Scotland to Sweden is two hours long. I repeat, TWO HOURS… Which means it’s a definite possibility that he might see her while he’s over there.

HOLD ON, WHAT ABOUT ELLY MILES? The Bachelor frontrunner we all thought was going to take out the title. Their connection was palpable and they would’ve made pretty cute kids! She just got home from Europe… Maybe he tacked a cheeky visit with her onto his holiday.

Just a thought!

If none of the above convinces you, how about this one— Matt is actually just sitting at home on his couch, posting cheeky throwbacks ahead of this season’s finale and watching morons like me try and make a story out of it???

THANKS, BYE!
