Kylie Jenner is one of the biggest names on Instagram, with every photo she posts racking up millions of likes.
She currently has an eye-watering 263 million followers on her main account – and yes, we said main, because she has like four.

As well as her public profile, @kyliejenner, Kylie also has three business accounts for her makeup, skincare and swimwear lines. Over on @kyliecosmetics she has 25.3 million followers, plus another 5.3 million on her @kylieskin account, and her brand-new @kylieswim page has over 700k already.
What we’re trying to say is that Kylie is basically the queen of Insta. Her photos are all over the app – and all over our news feeds when she makes headlines – so it’s just about impossible to escape her luxe Instagram posts. When it’s not her snaps popping up on our explore pages, it’s one of her sisters or one of the thousands of lookalike influencers posing just like her.
But what actually goes into one of Kylie’s oh-so-perfect Insta posts? And can normal girls really look the way she does in the photos that win her millions of likes on the daily?
We did some digging and found out exactly what’s involved in getting an Instagram pic like Kylie’s.
Makeup and clothes
Kylie likes to dress to impress on her Instagram page, regularly donning designer outfits and luxury makeup for her snaps.
She’s been snapped in a Balmain dress that cost over $33,000, Chanel glasses that retail for almost $5,000 and an Hermes bag worth more than $27,000. Even when Kylie looks low-key in jeans and a crop, or a simple string bikini, you can guarantee her outfit is worth hundreds – if not thousands of dollars.
As for her hair and makeup, Kylie keeps makeup artist Ariel Tejada, AKA @makeupbyariel, on hand to create her flawless looks. He has over 2.4 million Insta followers of his own and is estimated to be worth more than $2 million dollars, so you can guess how much Kylie is paying him. Not to mention that when the 24-year-old isn’t using her own makeup and skincare products, she can afford the priciest brands on the market.
Location, filters and editing
Not only does Kylie own her own $57 million home in Holmby Hills, California, where she can snap all the glam Insta pics she wants, the mum of one also regularly jets to exclusive destinations for luxe holidays. And of course, she takes plenty of photos while she’s there.

As well as having access to the best backdrops (AKA ridiculous mansions and tropical beaches), Kylie loves to, ahem, enhance her photos with filters and editing.
She regularly posts videos using face filters on Instagram, and some editing gurus have speculated that she uses body-altering filters on clips too. The star has also been caught out editing her face and body in photos a few times, slimming her waist or making her curves more pronounced.
Trainers and chefs
When it comes to fitness, Kylie has her own bod squad on speed dial. She trains with celebrity personal trainer Gunnar Peterson and works out between three to four times a week, according to reports.
As for her diet, in a recent “what I eat in a day” video the reality star showed off meals like granola with fresh berries, salad, pasta with veggies and even cookies. Of course, that’s just one day, and Kylie is said to focus on organic “clean” eating most of the time.
While she’s never outright said if she does or doesn’t have a private chef who makes her food for her, it’s common for celebs like the beauty mogul to keep a chef on the payroll. She also has the money to order food or dine out at luxe restaurants that can cater to her personal food goals.
Plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures
Alright, we have to talk about it; Kylie has had plastic surgery… allegedly. Though the star has only even come clean about getting lip injections, plastic surgeons around the world have claimed that she’s had procedures on her breasts, stomach and butt too.
Her tiny waist and flat stomach may be the result of working out and eating well – or it could by liposuction. Her wide hips and round derriere may be natural – or it could be a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL). Her big boobs that seem to have zero sag may just be the result of a late burst of puberty – or it’s a breast augmentation.
While we can’t say for sure what procedures Kylie has or hasn’t had, the reality is that her body today looks drastically different to what it looked like five years ago. It also looks a whole lot like the bodies of influencers and celebs who have admitted to getting BBLs and boob jobs.
Aside from plastic surgery, Kylie has money to pour into other cosmetic procedures like skin treatments, dermatologist appointments and more.
A whole lot of time and money
As of July, Kylie Jenner is estimated to be worth an unreal $1 billion. With that much money and no “normal job” keeping her in an office for eight hours a day, five days a week, Kylie literally has all the time and cash in the world to dedicate to… well, whatever she wants.
If she wants to rent a multi-million dollar mansion for herself and her hot, rich friends in some far-off tropical destination, she can do that. If she wants clothes worth more than the average second-hand car in Australia, she can buy them. And if she wants her Instagram photos to look literally perfect, she can make that happen.
Can normal girls get Instagram photos like Kylie’s?
The reality is that most of us – actually, pretty much all of us, don’t have anywhere near the amount of time and money it takes to produce an Instagram photo like Kylie’s. We don’t have the expensive clothes, the makeup artist, the trainer, diet, surgery, editing skills and energy that goes into creating even one of Kylie’s photos.
The 24-year-old gets paid as much as $1.6 million for a single sponsored post on the ‘gram, so it’s literally her job to make it look incredible. But for the rest of us, it just isn’t attainable.
And that’s why it’s so important that girls don’t compare themselves to people like Kylie Jenner, or any of the thousands of influencers and celebs like her. Especially when so many of them don’t disclose just what goes into every photo they post – the surgery, the expensive clothes, the list goes on.
Instead, make sure that you remember just how much really goes into these photos when you see them online. And if looking at profiles like Kylie’s leaves you feeling down about yourself, it might be time to block them or start following some more “real” accounts.
