Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley DRAAAAG ‘The Originals’

Who knew they were so salty about the spinoff?!

While The Originals seemed to ease the pain from The Vampire Diaries ending,  certain vampire brothers weren’t too happy about the spinoff news.

Ian Somerhalder, who played Damon Salvatore on TVD, got real about his feelings when at the Wizard World Philadelphia 2019. He was asked to name his favorite “K” villain from The Vampire Diaries: Katherine, Klaus, or Kai?

According to CinemaBlend, Somerhalder said:

“They were all amazing on their own. Klaus really ticked me off ’cause he left and went and got his own show. Rude. Oh my gosh, we — by ‘we’ I mean Paul Wesley and I — were so bitter with The Originals because we lost all of these amazing actors. Like, those were our peeps, dog. Plus, they had all those great accents. … Klaus was amazing — Joseph Morgan is an insanely beautiful actor.”

Yikes!

It’s true, very few original actors from The Vampire Diaries made it to the spinoff, and while the show introduced new beloved characters, we’re sure fans would have loved to see more Damon and Stefan Salvatore!

Even an Elena Gilbert (played by Nina Dobrev) cameo would have been incredible.

However, Nina left The Vampire Diaries before the show came to an end, so the possibility of her returning for the spinoff was always slim. Although, she has discussed the possibility of joining the other TVD spinoff: Legacies.

Since she and Damon Salvatore had a daughter that has been confirmed on the show, we can just imagine the reaction from fans if they had a reunion.
