The exciting news was announced by MTV president Chris McCarthy himself in the the latest New York Times.

“When you came into Times Square, you would say, ‘Let’s go to MTV’ … If we’re going to come back and reinvent MTV, the studio is a given. It is the centerpiece.”

The series was once everyone’s go-to for the latest music vids until it ended in November 2008.

And as for the host!

Carson Daly (the OG host) isn’t slated to return, instead five new co-hosts will run the program.
