Just a month after he proposed on the reunion special, Too Hot to Handle couple Harry Jowsey and Francessa Farago have announced they’ve broken up.
Farago confirmed the news yesterday in a YouTube video explaining what happened, aptly titled, “Our Broke Up.” The Canadian reality TV star says she and Jowsey are no longer together, after the Brisbane boy admitted to her that he “couldn’t do long distance.” Understandably, this news has left her “heartbroken.”
“I thought we were going to end up together,” she said in the video. “I thought we were going to get married.”
“There are a lot of things I personally believe, for my mental health, that I cannot tolerate anymore,” she continued. “I cannot fake a relationship. I cannot pretend that everything is going to be okay.”
“I’m deciding to come forward with this video to announce that we’re not together and we’re not getting back together because I needed to solidify that in my own brain.”
Moments later, Jowsey tweeted that he will go on Instagram Live tomorrow to explain “why I broke up with Francesca.” According to him, “nothing bad has happened so please don’t jump to conclusions. I’ll explain it all tomorrow in detail. Thanks for understanding.”
22-year-old Harry Jowsey from Brisbane and 26-year-old Francessa Farago from Canada met on the set of Netflix’s reality TV Too Hot to Handle. Too Hot to Handle is a dating show with a bizarre premise: ten singles on a paradise island must find love and win $100,000… and remain celibate. If they do anything sexual with each other, the prize money decreases. This, the show argues, encourages the contestants to get to know each other on a deeper level.
According to Esquire, the couple split after filming the show for eight months before they got back together. At the Too Hot to Handle virtual reunion, Harry Jowsey proposed to Francessa Farago with a Ring Pop. I guess they can’t all be like actual Netflix reality TV super couple, Love Is Blind‘s Lauren and Cameron.
