There’s no going back now, fam! Pretty Little Liars spinoff The Perfectionists has begun production and a new set of lies and ~drama~ are coming right at us.
Based on the novel by PLL author Sara Shepard and brought to life by queen I. Marlene King, the highly anticipated new series follows the scandalous lives of Alison DiLaurentis (played by Sasha Pieterse) and Mona Vanderwaal (played by Janel Parrish) as well as newcomer Sofia Carson (who you’ll recognise from Disney’s Descendants).
The excited AF stars have taken to Instagram to share the first official cast footage and PLL fans are going WILD.
“pretty. little. liars.” Sofia captioned a boomerang of the trio doing the signature PLL “shh” sign.
Sasha posted a pic of the lead gals alongside I. Marlene King and aptly captioned her pic:
“And so it begins…”
And lastly, Janel shared a gallery of images and captioned it:
“New town. Same secrets. It begins.”
In a recent interview, Sasha revealed that the series picks up right where the beloved mystery drama left off.
“I don’t want to get in trouble, but I think it’s a year or two [after],” she told ET.
“Honestly, I’m so glad that we’re kind of picking up where we left off. We left it in such a good place and I’m excited to be a mom, hell yeah!”
She adds: “I’m glad that I get to continue the character.”
“She’s amazing and I think, honestly, you’ll see a little bit more of a feisty side of her now that she’s in another element that she’s not used to.”
When asked if Alison’s bae Emily (played by Shay Mitchell) would be joining the show, she responded:
“I don’t think that will be a problem at all. I think the fans will really appreciate it, so that’s what we really care about anyway.”
Sofia, Sasha and Janel are gonna make one hell of a trio!
