Forget everything we said about The Kissing Booth 2 not happening… Joey King was totally trolling us.
She, and co-star Joel Courtney decided to spend their Valentine’s Day giving us the best gift of all: an official announcement video:
It’s happening!!!
“YUP!!! WE ARE GETTING A SEQUEL!!!” Joey captioned the video on her Instagram.
Joel and King Joey play besties, Lee and Elle, whose friendship is tested by Elle’s secret relationship with Lee’s older brother Noah (Jacob Elordi).
After Noah and Elle end up kissing at the kissing booth Elle set up for the school, the two are forced to face the issue of hurting Lee.
Netflix confirms that all three actors will be returning for the sequel.
The first movie left off with Noah and Elle finally being able to be together officially, but then Noah has to move away to go to college at Harvard.
Seeing as we’re pretty sure Joey and Jacob have broken up IRL, we can only expect some awkwardness in the upcoming movie… which was basically confirmed with Jacob’s absence in this announcement video.
But, we’ll take what we can get!
