You won’t recognise The Bachelorette’s Carlin at his school formal

Like many, the hunk was a victim of the 'emo phase'.

The Bachelorette front-runner Carlin Sterritt may seem like he was carved from stone by Michelangelo himself… but the internet has discovered the truth. He’s a former emo. Liquid eyeliner and all.

WATCH: Angie Kent has been forced to address her bitter feud with MAFS star Jessika Power…

The 31-year-old F45 trainer entered the Bachelorette mansion in his classic tuxedo looking like a dream, but thanks to the internet we have discovered that like many, Carlin had an awkward phase.

A photo from Carlin’s 2005 Calvary Christian College Formal has shown a completely unrecognisable boy.

Young Carlin was donned in a very baggy black three-piece suit, paired with a snazzy patterned vest and converse shoes. His windswept black hair is a stark difference to his golden locks he’s been rocking on the show.

Carlin made a huge first impression on Angie on night one, after serenading her with his acoustic guitar.

While Angie claims it’s something that would usually make her cringe, Angie’s undercover brother Brad was instantly a fan of how genuine he was. This earned him the ‘yellow rose’, which allowed Carlin to spend a whole 24-hours with Angie.

His honesty came out on their date, when he revealed to Angie that he is technically still married.

At this stage, I’m finding it hard to find something I don’t like about Carlin,” Angie admitted as the pair headed off on their adventure

He almost seems too good to be true.”

She ain’t lying.

The 30-year-old seems sweet, thoughtful, genuine… he wrote and performed a song for Angie on night one, his jaw is so chiselled it could cut delicious expensive cheese… You get the idea.

But there was a catch.

“I’m really excited about this date with Angie,” Carlin sweetly gushed in a bit to camera. “24 hours, it means that I really have some good time to connect with her and for her to see the true me and, you know, vice versa.

“But there is something that I do need to get off my chest. I don’t want to scare Ange off. It’s just about timing.”

We weren’t ready for what he said next.

I’ve been a little bit nervous coming into this experience because I’m super vulnerable with my story. I am the type of guy who wants to be open and transparent, because, you know, there’s no other way to do it…

“I am… married.”

“In 2016, I got married. We’ve been apart for a year and a half,” he told an understandably concerned-looking Ange.

“We drifted apart, you know? And I was… I was pretty hurt in the process, and she’s moved overseas now. So, like, for me that was sort of like, you know, I was, like, I’ve closed that chapter of my life.”

“So we filed for divorce and stuff and I suppose that’s sort of just the last stage of that.”

Angie appreciated Carlin’s honesty and continued on to give him a rose anyway. Will she do the same once she uncovers his emo phase?

We’re going to assume yes.
