When Abbie Chatfield and Matt Agnew engaged in some good old fashioned adult fun on a secluded beach, The Bachelor fans were quick to point the finger at Abbie as the instigator of the whole incident.
At the time, the property analyst copped serious backlash when she told Matt she was “horny” and that she wanted to sleep him (nothing wrong with that in our opinion).
However, since the explosive season wrapped and Matt found the woman of his dreams, Chelsie McLeod, shocking new behind-the-scenes details have emerged about that date… and they completely change the narrative.
An on-set spy has just revealed that Network 10 producers heavily edited the jaw-dropping scene to portray Abbie as the more sexually promiscuous of the two when in reality, the astrophysicist was equally as keen to go ahead.
According to the Mail Online, Matt was actually the first to suggest that he wanted to have sex with the 23-year-old, but his side of the conversation did not make it to our screens. It is believed the producers intentionally wiped his remarks in an attempt to reinforce her controversial portrayal. Basically, it was a clever tactic to make her look far more interested in 32-year-old than he was in her.

Since the infamous beach date hit our screens, Abbie revealed she’s been relentlessly slut-shamed online.
“There have been other comments I’ve seen on my Instagram and on Facebook saying ‘Is she really that easy?’ [and] slut-shaming,” the fan favourite property analyst told Mamamia. “I have a right to share a consensual kiss with a man I’m attracted to, to own my own sexuality and be confident and happy in myself.”
The 23-year-old— who describes herself as a vocal feminist— said that despite receiving a “positive reaction from a lot of people”, some took issue with Abbie owning her sexuality and openly admitting she was sexually attracted to Matt.
“People assume women can only be one thing; that because I was open with my sexuality and I was able to express that with Matt that I was only that one thing, that I couldn’t be intelligent and sexual and strong and funny and have any other personality traits,” she said.
Abbie has been the victim of online bullying. Last week, the nasty social media comments were so overwhelming, even former Today Show host Lisa Wilkinson injected her opinion. Rushing to defence, the mum-of-three slammed an online troll who claimed the controversial reality TV star deserves the hate directed towards her because she “knew what social media was like before even going on the show”.
Under a photo posted to her Instagram page with Matt and this year’s winner Chelsie, The Project host replied to a nasty user, saying, “Whatever you think of these shows, no-one deserves the next-level nastiness, the threats of violence, the vicious pile-on, and the mean girls mentality that has gone on around her— both on and off the show— just because she decided to run her own race.”
