SO much happened in season 2 of Stranger Things, and we’ve basically re-watched it 3,000 times just to unpack it all.
But we will forever go back to one point from though whole season – Steve really stepped it the hell up.
Steve, played by Joe Keerey, became one of the most popular characters this season when he got dumped by Nancy, and ended up spending most of his time babysitting the kids. His bond with Dustin was probably the most precious thing anyone has ever seen.
Well, fans have now developed a theory for Steve in season 3, and it’s that he will become a police officer in Hawkins Police Department, as PopSugar reports.
Reddit user appleparkfive predicted that Steve will team up with Chief Hopper.
“The theory that Hopper needs someone he can trust, and Steve has nothing going on in life,” the fan wrote. “So he should join the police dept, giving Hopper a #2 he can actually trust. It also gives Steve a reason to be around in a logical way. I’ve seen it around, and yeah. I’m sold.”
We’re into it.
Other fans on Reddit seem to agree. “I never knew I wanted this until now,” one person commented. Another fan jumped onto the theory, adding: “Steve would never want to wear his hat and Hopper would constantly remind him to ‘put his damn hat on.’ This is the banter I need.”
Season 3 doesn’t come back to Netflix until 2019!!! So, we have a helluva lot of time to speculate.
