When Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello released their song “Señorita”, fans were speculating about their rumoured relationship, especially since Camila broke up with her boyfriend Matthew Hussey at the same time.
In the lead up to their performance for today’s at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards, there is no question about the status of their relationship.
The pair have been spotted making out here, there and absolutely freaking everywhere since the song’s release, so fans have been GAGGING for their performance today to get at least an on-stage kiss.
Well, what they got instead was one steammmmmyyyyy, adorable exchange.

The couple teased the crowd with a near kiss.
While they didn’t actually kiss on stage, they did come super close, rubbing their noses together instead which was super cute.
However, Sophie Turner and Joe + Nick Jonas’ reaction to the near-kiss was ALL OF US:
The steamy performance came shortly after Shawn took the stage solo to perform his hit single “If I Can’t Have You.”
Unfortunately, the crowd wasn’t too impressed with his solo performance, looking INCREDIBLY bored throughout:
Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes, though clearly a couple, arrived at the awards show separately and walked the red carpet solo.
It wasn’t the most dramatic performance of the night though, with fellow artist Miley Cyrus performing her new divorce ballad “Slide Away” in a very emotional setting.
During the song, she even changed the lyrics about her and ex-husband Liam Hemsworth and herself from:
“You’re right, we’re grown now,” to “I’m grown now”.
Yikes.

The singer even brought her new love-interest Kaitlynn Carter with her.
