For literally years now our girl Selena Gomez has been the most-followed person on Instagram.
But she has now been knocked off the top spot by Cristiano Ronaldo. Yes, we’re serious.
Selena has a whopping 144 million followers, which is just insane. And now, so does soccer player Cristiano.
As of publication, Selena has 144, 348, 861 followers while Cristiano is now beating her with 144, 413, 915.

Cristiano celebrated his newfound Insta status with a fairly random photo which shows him laying in a gym on a yoga mat. As you do.
Selena’s shift in ranking comes a month after she announced that she was stepping away from social media for a while.
“Update: taking a social media break. Again. As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I am equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given. Kindness and encouragement only for a bit! Just remember- negative comments can hurt anybody’s feelings. Obvi.”
