Sarah Hyland has played the loveable Hayley Dunphy on Modern Family for over eight years now, so she definitely knows her alter ego inside and out.
So now, she’s come out and surprised/elated fans with the news that Hayley is actually bisexual.
It all went down when a fan asked her directly to confirm or deny the fan theory.
“I don’t know what the writers would say? But I confirm,” she wrote.

In the eight years of playing the character, Hayley has had a bunch of different love interests, all of whom have been guys.
Does this confession mean a future female love interest could be in the works? We hope so!
