Samsung’s brand new Galaxy Fold was meant to bring flip phones back in style, but unfortunately, nobody will ever beat Apple to the punch.
The phone, which is valued at $1,980, has finally arrived for tech journalists to test this week, and boy, has it been one big disaster.
Set for official release on April 26, users are already turned off by the screen that is a big old mess.
The screen on my Galaxy Fold review unit is completely broken and unusable just two days in. Hard to know if this is widespread or not. pic.twitter.com/G0OHj3DQHw

However, it might not be all bad. Part of the reason why the screen wasn’t working for them was that they weren’t meant to remove the ‘film’ across the screen.
But who WOULDN’T remove that film?!!?! Should a phone that expensive break when you remove a thin film anyway? Probably not.
100% did the same exact thing and the inside screen spazzed. There should be a PSA or writing in the box.

PSA: There's a layer that appears to be a screen protector on the Galaxy Fold's display. It's NOT a screen protector. Do NOT remove it.

I got this far peeling it off before the display spazzed and blacked out. Started over with a replacement. pic.twitter.com/ZhEG2Bqulr
Samsung has yet to respond.
