If last season’s main mystery was “who the hell killed Jason Blossom?” this season’s is definitely, “who the hell shot Fred Andrews?”
Naturally, fans have their theories, and they’re pretty epic. So, let’s go through them.
ARCHIE’S MUM
Yep, you read that right! Twitter user @joannafaye21 put together a neat little theory online which points out how irrelevant her character would be unless she had a bigger plot point.
She originally wanted Archie to move in with her in season one and leave Riverdale but he didn’t. Maybe she’s jealous of the bond Archie has with her ex-husband?
She also may have wanted revenge on Miss Grundy, who took advantage of her underage son.
HIRAM LODGE
Twitter user @edazaidil isn’t the only one who is suspicious of Hiram, and her theory is that Hiram ordered his people to kill Fred after he refused to sell him the construction company.
And, let’s not forget that Hermione had an affair with Fred too.
HAL COOPER
Betty’s dad? One of the main things pointing towards Hal being the shooter is that his eyes match pretty perfectly to the killers.
He has also been a pretty shady character since day 1…
A SOUTH SIDE SERPENT
An Instagram user believes that a new character brought in is usually the killer. Aka, this guy…
He also has very similar eyes to the shooter.
BETTY’S BROTHER
Chic Cooper, who has just been cast by Hart Denton, is another suspect among fans. We aren’t so sure why he’d be the killer, we’d need more background information on him TBH.
SHERIFF KELLER
Yep, Kevin’s papa. Why him, when he’s a Sheriff? Well it could be a perfect cover. Fans believe that he could actually be a secret Serpent, and that he shot Fred.
He may have even been paid off by someone else to do it.
