There Was An Epic ‘Riverdale’ Reference In ‘The O.C.’ And We Cannot Deal

Archie and Jughead were cheering people up even back then.

If you are just as obsessed with The O.C. as us, then you probably re-watch the series at every chance you get. (UM the whole thing is on Stan BTW).

So, while we were being hermits on the weekend, watching Seth and Summer have the perfect relationship, we noticed an EPIC reference to Archie comics, or more commonly known to us now, as Riverdale.

As you probably know, Riverdale originates from the comics, so Archie, Jughead and the gang have been around for a long time.

But, let’s be real… Cole Sprouse and KJ Apa made it that more interesting.

Anyway. In season 4 of The O.C. episode one, Ryan has outcast himself after Marissa’s death. (Still not over it).

Seth is working in the local comic book store, and his mumma bear Kirsten comes to visit, asking Seth for some lighthearted comics to cheer Ryan up.

UM, CUTE! We sure know Archie and Jughead would cheer us up.

Fast forward to episode six (we had a lot of time on our hands this weekend), and there’s even a huge cardboard cutout of the original Archie behind Ryan!

The O.C. knew what was cool before we did. God bless that show.
