There have been a lot of Riverdale fan theories bouncing around the internet, like who Betty Cooper’s half-brother is, and are Zombies/Werewolves coming to town… but it seems like to know everything, all you have to do is look at the parents.
One blogger, quirkyanya has posted a super interesting theory that suggests that the core four (Archie, Jughead, Betty and Veronica) are heavily following in their parents footsteps.
So really, we can predict what will happen with them in season two.
JUGHEAD
The last we saw of Jughead, he was being offered to join the Southside Serpents, something we know his father FP Jones was a part of. We’re all pretty damn sure that he is going to take their offer, since he proudly donned their leather jacket.
BETTY COOPER
The post suggests that Betty will also join the gang. It’s been referenced in the past that Alice Cooper, Betty’s mum has had some sort of involvement in the gang when she was younger. It’s very possible given that awkward convo she had with FP and Hal Cooper in the finale last season.
And the fact that Alice has had maybe ~romantic~ history with FP Jones… maybe even having a child together.
ARCHIE AND VERONICA
As for Veronica and Archie, they’ve been dubbed the “Romeo and Juliet” of the series, which could be due to the fact that their love is going to face some hardships that is all because of their families being rivals.
The suspicion right now is that Hiram or Hermione Lodge was the one to hire the hit on Fred Andrews last season, because of business issues. Can #Varchie survive their families feuding like that??
ARCHIE AND JUGHEAD
As for Archie and Jughead, the post suggests that Fred’s shooting will be blamed on somebody in the Serpents, which will “drive a wedge between Archie and Jughead.” Fred and FP Jones used to be good friends, but then something got in between them and they became “frenemies”.
Hopefully Archie and Jughead can avoid that, because their #bromance is everything.
It’s a bit of a dark theory, but we can see it happening. Especially Betty becoming a Serpent…
