Everyone who has red hair doesn’t need to be told that for a helluva long time, emojis have been discriminating against them.
That’s right. There’s emojis for peanuts, emojis for toilets, 7 – yes, 7 – different types of emojis for trains but until now, not one single emoji for people with red hair.
Thankfully, the wait (and blatant ‘gingerism’) is almost over.
157 new emojis are on the way, including an entire range of “people” emojis with red hair, white hair, curly hair and some with no hair.
Each emoji also comes in different skin tones for both male and female characters.
The new emojis are set for release in June but probably won’t hit our phones ’til August or September.
Prepare for an influx of emojis from the currently deprived redheads in your life.
