The coveted role has been handed to Nicholas Galitzine, as Deadline reports.
Nicholas excitedly revealed the news on his Twitter, sharing an article about his new role, writing, “Well I guess the news is out…” He also posted to his Instagram Story a selfie with the text, “Hair is at a super awkward length. Wonder what I’m growing it long for?”
The 25-year-old has also been cast in the reboot of The Craft, but you may have recognised him from television show Chambers.
Nicholas will star alongside Camila as our Cinderella, Billy Porter (American Horror Story) as the Fairy Godmother and Idina Menzel (Frozen) as Evelyn the evil stepmother.
Deadline also reports that production on the film is scheduled to start in February 2020, for a February 5, 2021 release.
What is even more exciting is that the upcoming movie will be created by Carpool Karaoke host James Corden! He is joined by writer and director Kay Cannon from Pitch Perfect.
Back when Camila was confirmed as the main gal, The Hollywood Reporter explained how this version of the movie will take inspiration from the classic fairytale… with a modern-day style.
We cannot wait to see how this is brought to life!
