Pretty Little Liars fans are delighted that Alison and Mona are back on their screens in The Perfectionists, because it means we get some closure on the other girls too…
However, #Emison fans weren’t happy when it was revealed that Alison and Emily got a divorce this past season.
But don’t worry!!! They’re endgame, apparently.
“I don’t think it’s the end of the story, and I think it’s possible that Emison is going to be endgame, but I think it’s only fair to Alison that she gets to go on a journey in this world and where she ends up…I would say it’s still possible that she finds her way back to Emily in Rosewood, but she has to go on a journey first,” creator I. Marlene King told E! News.
Trouble between the pair was hinted at the start, when Alison revealed that there were some major trust issues between them.
I. Marlene King also explained the obvious factor keeping them apart: Alison is now in Beacon Heights and Shay Mitchell no longer on the show as Emily.
“We knew it was a bitter pill to swallow, but she couldn’t have a love interest that wasn’t on the show right now. It’s unfair to the character, really,” I. Marlene King said.
“So yeah, it was a necessary thing to do, and I know it’s heartbreaking for some fans, but I hope they open up their minds and their hearts to go on this ride with Alison, and know that they may live happily ever after in the end, or she may find somebody fans love even more than Emily.”
But endgame is endgame, and that’s enough for us!!
