Yesterday saw the floodgates open for #sleevegate, when fans started accusing Pitch Perfect 3 for fat-shaming some of their cast members because of the below Bella’s costume. Now, costume designer Salvador Perez has taken to Twitter to clear the air.
As you can see, Rebel Wilson is in a more ‘covered up’ version of the shirt than her cast-mates.
Refinery 29 pointed out that even other cast members, including Anna Kendrick are in the more revealing shirt.
Ester Dean is the only other girl wearing the same top as Rebel.
Salvador wrote on Twitter:
“I let each actor decide how their costume fit, it was their choice, Rebel, Ester & Hana Mae wanted sleeves, #sleevegate.”

Thankfully that’s all cleared up, because we really didn’t wanna believe anyone was being fat-shamed.
