Never-before-seen footage of Olivia making her debut album Sour will officially be shown in a new documentary called Olivia Rodrigo: Driving Home 2 U (A Sour Film).
The 18-year-old took to Instagram to share the film’s teaser trailer, giving a preview of the new live arrangements of her hit songs such as Good 4 U.
Along with Good 4 U, Olivia Rodrigo: Driving Home 2 U (A Sour Film) will feature 10 other songs from Sour as the singer performs from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles.
It will also include personal stories, memories, intimate interviews, and a behind-the-scenes look at making the album, both in and out of the studio.
Olivia will also open up about the Grammy-nominated album and the challenges that came with becoming a worldwide phenomenon at just 17 years old.
This new documentary is a testament to Olivia’s rising success, as she was recently nominated for seven Grammy awards for Sour.
Olivia’s hit song Driver’s License earned her a nomination for Best Pop Solo Performance, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year.
Meanwhile, Sour has been nominated for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album, and her Good 4 U music video, directed by Petra Collins, is up for Best Music Video.
“This is a unique film experience where for the first-time fans will understand how her album came to be and why it was such a personal journey for Olivia,” President of Disney Branded Television, Ayo Davis said of the documentary in a statement.
“This is not a concert film per say, but really, an opportunity to experience first-hand how Olivia Rodrigo became one of the biggest music stars of the day – and a chance to see her perform the songs from Sour like never before.”
The music documentary will be available to watch exclusively on Disney+ on March 25, 2022, nearly a year since the record-breaking album launched.
