Mulan, arguably the best Disney movie of all time, is getting a live-action remake. While this is good news, the changes being made are disappointing fans.
WATCH: The official Mulan live-action remake trailer is here!
Not only did they remove Mulan’s love-interest Li Shang, but they’ve now decided to cut MUSHU!!!
The adorably witty dragon originally voiced by Eddie Murphy was adored by Mulan fans… who are now wondering how they will fill that void.
Another major difference between the original and the remake is that there will be NO MUSICAL NUMBERS.
But the removal of beloved parts of the movie is the least of Disney’s worries when it comes to this particular remake.
The movie is being accused of historical inaccuracies. A new report from the Skyler Shuler of The DisInsider claims that the movie has had to undergo reshoots to help fix “significant battle sequences”, however, Chinese film and box office analyst Gavin Feng denied the claims.
There will be reshoots, but they won’t take four months… only a couple of weeks.
Mulan has been estimated at a budget of $290 to $300 million, which sets it as one of the most expensive films of all time…
Mulan is set to be released on March 27, 2020
