MTV has launched MTV Studios, which means some of our beloved ’90s shows are getting rebooted… for example: Daria!!
The reboot will be called Daria & Jodie, written by Grace Edwards – who worked on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Inside Amy Schumer.
The show will follow the Daria we know and love, as well as her friend Jodie Landon. They will “take on the world” and deal with cultural issues of today.
“She is a huge fan of Dara,” MTV president Chris McCarthy told The Hollywood Reporter about Grace Edwards. “The story she wants to tell Daria is different, it’s about Daria and Jodie and two close friends taking on the world today and what’s happening in our culture at large.”
Daria taking on today’s world issues? Yes PLEASE!
MTV Studios also plan on rebooting old shows like The Real World, Made and Aeon Flux.
