So we knew that OG cast member Lauren Conrad wouldn’t be joining The Hills reboot, but in a bizarre turns of events, actress Mischa Barton WILL be.

MTV have announced that The O.C. actress will be joining original cast members Audrina Patridge, Heidi Pratt, Brody Jenner, Spencer Pratt, Stephanie Pratt, Frankie Delgado, Jason Wahler, Whitney Port and Justin “Bobby” Brescia for the revival The Hills: New Beginnings.
Is it just us or is this SUPER random?!
Mischa obviously didn’t star in the original series, which ran from 2006-2010, but she did play it-girl Marissa Cooper in The O.C., which inspired the reality TV show.
The 32-year-old took to Instagram to celebrate her new gig, which included a cheeky video.
“The secret’s out… I’m joining the cast of The Hills. When MTV approached me with the chance to be a part of the reality show that was inspired by The OC, it felt like the perfect opportunity for an irresistibly inviting new chapter,” she wrote.
All we can say is well done MTV on locking down Marissa Cooper! 👏
