According to PEOPLE, the singer can only communicate via text, notebook and pen or social media after undergoing surgery on her vocal cords.
A source told PEOPLE that the Slide Away singer had to visit hospital in October for tonsilitis when her doctors noticed a “separate issue” with her vocal cords that she had apparently been harbouring for years undetected.
“After learning of the issue, [Miley] was told she would need to have surgery before the end of the year, and that the recovery process would include several weeks of silence,” the source told the magazine.
Another source told E! News Miley’s recovery will be several weeks and that she is currently texting to communicate with people.
“Miley’s recovery will be several weeks without being able to speak.”
The source continued to tell E!: “She is texting and writing things for now. She is doing well and looking forward to getting back to making music.”
Miley is currently working on her upcoming album She Is Miley Cyrus so the GOAT is probably taking this time to write some killer new songs.
