You may think that Matty J is a pro at this whole Bachelor thing, but it seems like he really is the puppet he said he wasn’t.
Apparently, sympathising with all the contestants has made his time as the Bachelor a lot harder than expected.
He’s needed a lot of help from producers to make big decisions.
“He was struggling to make decisions at the rose ceremonies,” an insider told NW. “Especially having gone through The Bachelorette, he couldn’t bring himself to hurt the girls’ feelings, so he asked to be steered in the right direction.”
One of the former contestants even told Fairfax Media that Matty always had a producer in his ear while filming.
“Those who had been fighting that week would be the last to get a rose for dramatic effect,” said the contestant, who remained anonymous.
“He acted so devastated, heavy sighing and heavy breathing. Once the girl walked out and he heard, ‘OK, it’s a wrap,’ he was back to being happy Matty again,” the source continued. Woah.
“It was almost like he was being told what his opinions were,” the contestant said. “He’s very concerned with his image. Everything that comes out of his mouth is image conscious and measured. He wants Australia to believe he is the perfect gentleman.”
