Last night, Bachelor Matt Agnew and his gal Chelsie McLeod made a guest appearance on Channel Ten’s hilarious show Have You Been Paying Attention.
Knowing the show for how savagely the comedians roast each other, and any guest who appears, they should have known better. Well, Matt should have.
Unlucky for Chelsie, who had to fake-laugh through the whole thing, the panelists threw plenty of gags his way about humping Abbie a day before confessing his love for Chelsie.
CRINGE!
WATCH: Matt Agnew and Chelsie McLeod forced to laugh awkwardly as he gets ROASTED over Abbie:
“At what point in the series, Matt, did you think Chelsie was the one?” host Tom Gleisner asked him.
“Certainly popping the oxytocin tattoo on my chest made an impression,” he answered.
“Was that before or after that beach thing that we saw?” asked Pacquola.
Fellow panelist Ed Kavalee then added, “Excuse me, Matt has a very simple and believable explanation for dry humping a woman the day before he picked someone else.”
Help.
Interestingly, it was revealed today that the show edited out a very important part of Abbie and Matt’s final date on the beach.
An on-set spy has just revealed that Network 10 producers heavily edited the jaw-dropping scene to portray Abbie as the more sexually promiscuous of the two when in reality, the astrophysicist was equally as keen to go ahead.
According to the Mail Online, Matt was actually the first to suggest that he wanted to have sex with the 23-year-old, but his side of the conversation did not make it to our screens. It is believed the producers intentionally wiped his remarks in an attempt to reinforce her controversial portrayal. Basically, it was a clever tactic to make her look far more interested in 32-year-old than he was in her.
How awkward.
But the jokes didn’t stop on HYBPA… Sam Pang then asked Chelsie why she loves Matt after the laughs died down, but her answer wasn’t one they really understood.
“I guess when I first saw him on the red carpet I found that he was a boy version of me,” Chelsie said.
“What does that mean?” Ed asked her.
“We have a lot in common, I guess,” she replied.
Chemicals and stuff.
The couple then moved onto asking quiz questions, with one being what was written on the necklace Matt gave Chelsie.
Ed guessed first, “Abbie?”
Eugh…
Moving onto the next question, Matt asked: “For The Bachelor finale, I took Abbie and Chelsie somewhere special. Where did I take them?”
Sam answered: “You took Abbie as well? You took Abbie to South Africa to dump her? Why didn’t you just take her to Nando’s like Ed (Kavalee) does? Unbelievable.”
But maybe the worst joke came last… when Matt asked the panelists, “On Thursday I said goodbye to Abbie. What were her final words to me?”
Pacquola quipped, “I’m pregnant.”
Omg.
She continued, “She said, ‘As long as you’re happy, that’s the most important thing’, which is bulls**t. It sounds lovely but then I watched it and it was quite angry.”
Abbie was incredibly upset during the finale episode of The Bachelor when Matt broke her heart in South Africa.
While she basically stormed off into the car revealing that she was “fine” and maybe not even in love with Matt after all… her media interviews the next day revealed how hurt she really has been.
Her heartbreak over Matt and the online hate she’s been copping from viewers since the show has been on has been a lot for her to handle.
“I trusted Matt when he told me how he felt about me,” she said to Nova.
“The only way I can describe this moment is complete and utter shock. I was numb. I couldn’t and didn’t want to feel anything. I had felt for weeks that what Matt and I had was real and I trusted him wholeheartedly when he told me how he felt about me.
“Hearing Matt say, ‘my heart is with someone else’reminded me that we were filming and that Matt had to make a difficult decision, and he did not see in me what I saw in him. I felt silly for ever imagining Matt would love me. It was like emotional whiplash. I was so confused and it felt like I was in a dystopian reality.
She concluded: “The second the cameras turned off, I sobbed. I screamed. I couldn’t breathe. I didn’t think this would be how we would end. I spent weeks crying about this relationship that had almost no closure. I still haven’t fully healed from my relationship with Matt, but I know he and the gorgeous woman he is with are happy, and that’s all that matters.”
It’s just a big old mess, but thankfully Abbie is on the mend and potentially joining Bachelor In Paradise.
“You’re single, you’re famous and you have Bachelor in Paradise right around the corner,” Fitzy said to Abbie when she was on the show. “Congratulations on that,” he said as she giggled.
“I think it’s a really good process and I know what I’m doing now. I probably wouldn’t say on camera “I’m really horny” again though, so I’ve learned my lesson.”
