While it’s probably the most OBVIOUS plot twist to hit this season of Married At First Sight, but Heidi Latcham and Mike Gunner have broken hearts around the country by confirming they’ve split a mere TWO days after their final vows.
Despite the fact that Mike told Heidi he loved her, things just did not work out for them on the outside of the experiment.
On the finale, Mike walks in alone without Heidi. “Where’s Heidi?” Asks Dino. At this stage, a stressed Mike doesn’t answer and simply grunts “Hmmm… Ah, I’ll get to that…” he says avoiding talking about it.
“Right after the final vows, we went back to the Gold Coast together, but it didn’t work, the wheels started coming off,” he admits to the camera. “She looks amazing though. I know why I fell in love with her,” he trails off.
When Heidi later turns up, she is noticeably frosty. “I’m not married anymore,” she tells Michael.
“We got to the end we said each other, I moved to the Gold Coast and two days later everything went to shit,” she later tells the table.
Mike, however, is still wearing his wedding ring and appears to be sad about the situation. “It’s a shame. It would have been good to live a life with her.”
