Rumours have long been swirling that Jessika Power secretly signed on to star in Love Island Australia after being poached by Nine Network. Although she hinted on multiple occasions that she had joined the dating series, the former Married At First Sight contestant has finally set the record straight.

Speaking to New Idea, the controversial reality TV star— who no doubt would’ve brought SO much drama to the dating series— said she’s too busy with other business ventures to return to our screens so soon after starring on MAFS.

“At the moment, I have so many amazing projects in the works that I want to focus on, so the possibility of more reality TV for me this year isn’t in my cards,” said Jess, who recently announced she’s split from fellow MAFS star, Nick Furphy.

But that doesn’t mean she won’t be tuning in!

“I can’t wait to watch! I hear they’ve got some VERY sexy bombshells coming to our TV screens!”

Last month, a report from the Mail Online suggested that the 27-year-old’s new-found singledom conveniently coincided with the announcement that Love Island Australia has been confirmed for another season. Jess further fueled speculation she was joining the show when she started following Love Island Australia’s Instagram account soon after announcing her split from Nick.

Less than two months after going public with their relationship, Jess took to Instagram to reveal she’d split from Nick, admitting she was the one to call time on their short fling.

“I know there’s a lot of speculation going around right now in regards to my relationship status with Nick,” she began. “Regretfully after thinking of what’s best for myself and Nick I decided to ended (sic) our relationship.”

She went on to thank her fans for their support, however, asked they respect her privacy.

“I love you all and I appreciate the concern but this is fresh and private. I’m not ready just yet to discuss or go into detail but thank you all for the kind messages and support.”

The news of their breakup wasn’t a huge shock considering Jess and Nick were caught in a public spat two days after enjoying what was meant to be a romantic vacation in Bali. According to onlookers, Jessika was screaming and swearing at Nick during a heated argument at Ngurah Rai International Airport.

“We heard some arguing and screaming near one of the lounges and as it got louder my friend and I walked over to have a look,” the onlooker told the Daily Mail. “We couldn’t believe it when we recognised it was her from Married At First Sight. Quite a few people were looking. She seemed really upset.”

“She was so emotional and then they left on different flights back to Australia.”

After suffering an ill-fated MAFS marriage to Queensland farmer Mick Gould, later propositioning Nic Jovanovic and then dating Dan Webb, Jess and Nick went public with their relationship in early July. Although they claimed their romance was the real deal, after dozens of weak attempts to try and convince us they were in love, Nick’s former MAFS co-star Telv Williams revealed their relationship was, in fact, a publicity stunt.

“I think it’s a publicity stunt… straight out,” the reality star said.

As expected, Jessika hit back, refuting Telv’s claims.

“I am sick of defending myself over Telv and his lies. I really wish he would just leave me alone and let me live my life. I’m very happy with Nick, he’s a great person and someone I can see myself settling for. His “friends” should be happy for him.”
